Sterling Pride Farms (SPF) was started in 2011 to bring fresh produce to the Sterling neighborhood, which is located in a food desert. The main farm is now adjacent to the Sterling Hope Center, where Sterling organizations and Bon Secours St. Francis Community Health staff have office space.
Available produce changes with the seasons. In the summer, expect to find fresh herbs, peppers, cucumbers, squash, sweet potatoes, and other warm-season vegetables. In the spring and fall, the offerings change to mixed greens, lettuce, collards, onions, and potatoes.
If you’re interested in purchasing produce, please text farm manager Sylvia Vandross at 864-567-8546. If you’d like to volunteer on the farm or participate on SPF’s advisory committee, please email [email protected].
SPF’s work is supported by spring plant sales and grants from Bon Secours St. Francis Health System.
